Santa Rosa´s Caballitos de Tortora

Santa Rosa is a small fishing town near Chiclayo. I went there hoping to see the caballitos de tortora. As you can see from my pictures, I found them. They are basically small fishing boats the indigenous people use. The day I went to Santa Rosa they weren´t in use because the ocean was too rough. Normally, they would paddle out for about an hour before starting to fish. Just think how hard it would be to guide one of those boats out in the ocean. Find the piece of wood to the left of the boat in the 4th picture. That is their paddle. Difficult, right?
