Here are a few pictures of a church I toured in Manizales. It is very tall and stands above every other building in the city but, upon closer inspection, I realized that it was made entirely of concrete. This gives it somewhat of an ugly look.
The original plan included a full marble cover inside and out, but the weight proved inadequate for the terrain the cathedral was built on, so that part of the project had to be dumped. As a matter of fact, in recent years the cathedral of Manizales has been through a structural reinforcement process due to the dangerous inclination it has been acquiring over the years.
